Default 25th Feb update - Dwarven Battle Stance.

Hey guys,
just wanted to know what the community thinks of the update for warriors, whilst at the same time putting a few opinions of mine own forward.

Copy/pasting the whole thing is a bit ugly, so I'm going to start the discussion off with this:

Dwarven Battle Stance: decreased Energy cost to 5; changed functionality to: "Elite Stance. For 5...10...11 seconds, if you are wielding a hammer, you attack 33% faster, you gain +40 armor, and your attack skills interrupt foes when they hit."

For me, this is my favourite part of the update. I've been waiting for a new elite skill to use for a while and I think this is perfect.

Playing around with a few skills at the moment, but this works really well with Dwarven stability and AoE attack skills such as Whirlwind and Crude swing.

So then, what do you guys think?

Wonderfull, and with maxed dwarven reputation and dwarven stability it can be kept up.

Warry's are back in the caurse now!

Staggering Blow would compliment it well due to the fast activation time it now has and the small amount of Adren needed.

Dwarven Battle Stance looks great, can't wait to try out some new builds with it. On the same note, how about Forceful Blow? The update added stance removal AND it is unblockable.

Start of the build i've been trying out (needs more work of course), doesn't have knockdown at the moment, which is the biggest weakness I think,

Crude Swing
Whirlwind Attack
Forceful Blow (E)
Fierce Blow
Auspicious Blow
Mighty Blow
Mokele Smash
For Greater Justice/Drunken Master/Flail - Haven't figured out which is more useful in this build, IAS or better adrenaline gain

Devastating Hammer could fit well into this as well as Magehunter's Smash/Earthshaker paired with staggering blow to get the weakness needed for the other attacks in the build.

Equip should definitely be a furious hammer

this skill is almost like a supershield for hammer wielders.

Honestly, my favorite build is the one we posted on PvX -

http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:W/any_Dwarven_Hammer

AoE interrupts and room for AoE KD's, etc, etc. is just sooooo nice.

Aside from the lack of SY!, that's a beautiful build.

I'm going to try it out with Yeti, Renewing, and SY! in the options. Let's see how the energy does...

I found energy a pain when running a similar build.
Gonna try it with a zeal hammer, and maybe AoS aswell.

AoS? Avatar of Something? Aura of Stupidity? I can normally decipher these but seriously you can't abbreviate everything. There are hundreds of skills you know. /sigh

Update: Build as posted on wiki has total energy failure, even if optional slots are left empty. Solution: replace FGJ with Auspicious Blow, or use it in an optional slot.

Ultimately though, I'm having trouble justifying this over Earthshaker. KD stops not only the current action, but the next 3 sec worth of action.

This. It's inferior to earth shaker, but still pretty damn fun.

Did it get changed so that it looks cool or something where you use it? This is what the update notes said.

Context clues FTW. Of course, we could both be wrong and maybe he's wanting to wield a hammer as the Avatar of Sweetness.

As for the Earth Shaker change, if you're within a certain range of someone using it, your screen will shake a little and you'll hear a loud sound of the hammer hitting the ground.

Also, debris will fly out of the ground due to the impact of the hammer.

My favorite aspect of this buff is the remaining "while holding a hammer" clause. I was worried it would screw up my Hulking Stone Elemental farm.

I bet this is a peek at the caliber of spell/attack animations in guild wars 2, the trailer shows a few that looked boss.
